I had a great tough time thinking on how would this poker poem go.^_^ Please be kind on your comments Pansit.^_^
If you don't love this poem, i somehow wish you'll like. It's about poker since at the very beginning, i feel like you're always playing poker with me haha! Always defeating my four of a kind with a straight flush! Enjoy reading! It's definitely for YOU. ^_^
PS pardon me if ever i got the other terms wrong.. i'm just me you know

MIDNIGHT POKER
He woke me up at midnight
To deal with me in his card game
for a couple of hands or more
It's a poker game he yearns for
Poker and nothing more
From the start I had a streak of luck
that swiftly reached its end
Then he said "This low stake game we're
playing, I'm starting to abhor"
"Then by all means" said I, "we should
surely play for more"
He took some gold coins in his pocket
And my soul was filled with greed
"Yes" I whispered weakly "we should
surely play for more"
Then he said in a voice so solemn
as he stacked coins in a column
"The hour grows late, I'm weary, so we'll
play one hand more, if you win, my
gold you'll own. If I win, then I'll
never play poker with you... evermore"
I said "that's fair, I feel"
Then he began to deal
And the cards I had were aces,
and the aces numbered four
I said "my hand is pat and I'm only
sorry that the pot has been established
and that we can bet no more"
"Bet some more!" I then was told
And he pulled out more gold and
tossed it with the other coins
that were strewn across the table
"But I cannot match your bet" I sadly said
"but yet, I must have something left,
something you would adore"
"If you want to bet, you can, but lose and
I will play with you no more... evermore"
I stared at my four aces, smiled and
looked at him, sealed the bet and spread
my aces down and out across the table
His face just glowered as his
poker hand he lowered
'til it covered my four aces
that were resting on the table
Then amid a hush, I saw his small
straight flush
and knew that I was beaten
and was doomed forevermore.
My midnight seemed perpetual.
I can never ever play poker with him
The game he loved
Evermore.
